Workout Schedule

A brief summary:  When it comes to working out, I try to do SOMETHING everyday except Sunday (and sometimes I do something on Sunday too if I’m feeling particularly energetic!).  I run 4 days a week (usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday).  I’m currently following a modified version of Hal Higdon’s Novice Half Marathon Training Plan (I modified it to make it progress slower because that’s what I need… a SSSLLLLOOOWWWW build-up… I’m NOT a born runner, I’ve been building up my mileage bit by bit since November of 2007).  I typically do some other kind of short cardio workout the other two days of the week (Tuesday and Thursday usually) which could include: Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred DVD, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the stationary bike, some form of aerobics class at my gym, a Wii My Fitness Coach Game Session, a video, a step DVD I own, a random workout DVD I’ve picked up at the library, or even just some workout show I’ve TiVo-ed off of FitTV.  Usually I make up a schedule at the beginning of the month and try to vary the Tuesday/Thursday cross-training, but sometimes things get shuffled or changed (I stay home and do a video instead of going to the gym, etc.).  The bottom line is, my runs ALWAYS come first, and my Tuesday/Thursday workouts are where I allow myself some lenience to stray from the plan.  If you want to know more than that, check out the links below:
